Essential website storage
Cookies, local storage and session storage support requested website features. Authentication/account state, cart selections and saved-material state are stored in the browser. Signed-in saved materials are also associated with your account. The server limits authentication tokens to 24 hours. Browser account cache may remain until logout or clearing.
The 21+/research-use affirmation is stored locally for up to 30 days under its current version. Privacy preferences have a separate version and expire after 180 days. Neither record creates a server-side visitor identity ledger. A shipping-address draft, if created, is held in session storage for up to 30 minutes and scoped to the signed-in account; purchase acknowledgements are not restored from it.
Administration
Django uses session and request-forgery-protection cookies on backend/admin routes. Essential cookies are not optional analytics.
Optional tracking
Optional analytics and advertising tracking are disabled for this launch. No payment interface is enabled. If optional analytics are introduced, a current affirmative preference is required before loading them. Global Privacy Control keeps optional analytics off. Newsletter consent is separate from website tracking choices.
Newsletter preferences
The browser may store whether a newsletter invitation was presented, dismissed or accepted, with a cooldown time. This preference is not the subscription record and does not itself establish marketing consent. Signup uses explicit single opt-in. Server-side unsubscribe and suppression remain effective even if browser data is cleared.
Your controls
Open Privacy Choices in the footer or within Research Access. When no optional purposes are configured, the panel states this without empty tracking toggles. Closing without saving preserves your previous choice. Browser settings can clear or restrict cookies and storage; this may sign you out or remove unsynchronized selections. Privacy choices and newsletter unsubscribe remain independent.
